Samsung Galaxy Z in the Wild, the Galaxy S II Younger Brother

It’s not official for Samsung yet, but it is for its Swedish partner-carrier Three.

Posted for pre-order is the Samsung Galaxy Z (model I9003), and with a 2-core processor under its hood - it’s no doubt Sammy has something more on its dual-core smartphone lineup for 2011. Though it appears as a downgraded version of Galaxy S II, the Galaxy Z still got decent specs with 1 GHz of dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, 4.2-inch SC-LCD screen with a 800×480 resolution (WVGA), 5 MP rear-facing camera with LED flash, 4x zoom and 720p video recording support, Front-facing camera, 8 GB of internal storage, microSD card slot up to 32GB, and the phone runs Android Gingerbread.

Pre-order price of the phone is set for €435 or $630 at Three Sweden, but of course we can expect different pricing here in the Philippines. More on this once we got official word from Samsung. [via]

SpellDial - Let You Call Names, Not Numbers!

Wouldn't dialing names instead of numbers be easier since humans tend to remember names more?

But isn’t it ironic that despite this fact, we have stuck to numbers since the invention of the telephone? This is about to change.

Jose Albert Chiu Padin, a 23-year old Cebuano who studied B.S. Information Technology at the Centre For International Education Cebu (CIE) has developed an innovative way to make connecting people a whole lot easier. His invention, SpellDial, is a service that enables smartphone (ie. iPhone, Android, Blackberry, and Symbian) users to dial names instead of numbers, by converting hard-to-remember numbers into easy-to-recall names!

Passing by a billboard on the road, you will probably remember the service offered but not their contact number. If you lose your phone or change your number, you would have to go through the hassle of informing all your friends. If you find yourself stuck with a dead phone, you could hardly retrieve contacts and it means one thing -- a nightmare. Well, SpellDial solves all these problems.

How it works

This is how SpellDial works.
SpellDial gets a name and a number, and then stores them. Behind the scenes, when a person dials a name through the SpellDialer (a free smartphone web application), the system looks up its corresponding number and then prompts the phone to call the number. Simple!

So instead of dialing something like (+63) 917-526-XXXX (which is almost impossible to remember), you can dial “ph.cebutechblogger” instead, where ph stands for the country Philippines. Isn’t that cool?

How do I get a SpellDial?

SpellDial using Safari for iPhone
Register at www.spelldial.com. Choose a username and type the contact number you want it to be linked to. Once approved, you may now be contacted through your SpellDial name. You can easily update the number your SpellDial name points to, so there is no need to inform others if you change your number. And if you left your phone, all you have to do is update the number on your SpellDial to one you can be reached at!

How do I SpellDial on my phone?

SpellDial App on iPhone
Open spelldialer.com on your phone’s web browser. This enables you to dial SpellDial usernames. There's also an added feature in which users can add the app in their phone's homescreen.

Can I still avail of SpellDial even if I don’t own a smartphone?

Yes! If you have registered for a SpellDial account, your friends, who have smartphones, can contact you through your SpellDial. Unfortunately, since you are unable to access SpellDialer on your phone, you will be unable to contact your friends using their SpellDial. But take heart, the goal is to make it native on all phones.

SpellDial is definitely the answer as to why would you let your friends call you by a number when you have a name. If I say, “Hi I’m Cebu Tech Blogger, call me at (63) 917-526-XXX.” I will not receive any calls since one can hardly remember! But if I say, “Hi I’m Cebu Tech Blogger, call me at dial.cebutechblogger.” I will probably be bombarded with calls! This is really good for businesses since your name could be your “number” - SpellDial makes connecting so much easier!

Before it’s too late!

SpellDial usernames are unique, which means no two people can have the same SpellDial Name. Thus, it's certainly important to get an account before someone else chooses the username you prefer!

Again, it's SpellDial - the future of connecting people and the new way to dial! You may try it... It's free!

A Glimpse of What is Called Nokia N5

It seems like Nokia is having series of leaks of its upcoming handsets.

Last week, a phone codenamed “Sea Ray” which is apparently the first Windows Phone 7 device suddenly popped-up in the blogosphere despite the precautions made by the company’s CEO in an attempt to keep every single detail of the much-anticipated Windows phone secret.

And now, we got another one – the Nokia N5. And if you think the UI from the image above looks similar that of MeeGo, you probably got yourself wrong. The Nokia N5 will apparently rock the latest version of Symbian OS, the Symbian Anna. Just recently, Nokia outs 2 Symbian Anna handsets – the Nokia E6 and Nokia X7 – and what this leak means to us is there are more Anna devices coming. It’s not just N5 as we also have to expect the phone’s younger siblings, the Nokia N6 and N7. The folks over at Excellular.co.za confirmed that Nokia N5 will be available in 2 colors. And the photos below speaks for the phone to feature 5MP camera with LED flash at the back, loud speaker at the lower portion, front-facing camera, touchscreen display with Call and Menu buttons below it, as well as volume control and camera shutter buttons on the right side.

That’s all we got for now, but surely we’ll be eyeing on this one – so just stay tuned. [via]

The Pope Tweeted Using an iPad to launch the Vatican News Portal

His Holiness is now in the cloud.

The Pope just launched the Vatican news portal, The Vatican Today. And guess what? He did it on Twitter using his magical tablet device, the iPad!

It reads,

Dear Friends, I just launched news.va Praised be our Lord Jesus Christ! With my prayers and blessings, Benedictus XVI
It’s the Pope’s first tweet ever and now I’m thinking – could it be a Holy tweet? And the tablet is a Holy iPad? That sounds crazy, but yes - it might be.

It’s not a big deal though if the Pope really owns that iPad, but at least we saw him using it. And it feels different watching him sending the message to world, really. Watch this video courtesy of Rome Reports.

There’s one thing I’m sure about this though, Steve Jobs will certainly keep on smiling for such great honor his craft was once held by the Bishop of Rome. Seriously, it could be a huge advertisement for the iPad.J

Google Plus (Google+), the Search Giant’s Social Network

Google finally introduced its own social networking layer called Google+ or Google Plus.

Google+ is definitely the search giant’s answer to Facebook, the world’s biggest social networking site to date. Though still on development and is available by invitation only, Google allow us to preview what social experience Google+ would bring. It features what they called Circles, allowing users to group contacts in various social circles and share things just in particular group; Sparks, which delivers a feed of contents from the web depending on your interest (think of Twitter hashtags); Hangouts, which is basically a chat room; and Mobile, allowing users to update Google+ via mobile with focus on messaging, photo and video sharing, and location-based services. Google+ also includes what is called Huddle, a group messaging experience that lets everyone inside the circle know what’s going on.

As of the moment though it's not yet available for everyone, but Android users can already have it at the Android Market. Watch featured videos after the break.

So what do you think of this innovation? Could this be a big hit? Well, I think with its comprehensive key features, I would say that it's not yet late for Google.

Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type Review

Nokia lent CTB another handset for review, this time an entry-level Nokia X3-02.

I’ve been using the handset for more than two weeks already and it’s a great experience trying another Nokia phone running Series 40 platform. Released in September last year, the Nokia X3-02 is a Touch and Type phone with a candy bar and lightweight form-factor.

It’s already available in Nokia stores here in the Philippines and if you thought of getting one, I suggest you read my review first to help you decide whether this phone would fit your lifestyle.

Nokia X3-02 Key Features

Series 40 UI

Touch and Type functionality

2.4-inch QVGA touch screen and physical keypad

Slim design with brushed aluminum cover in colours: Dark Silver, Dark Metal, Petrol Blue, Pink, Lilac

3G, HSPA, and Wi-Fi

Dedicated music key for instant music player access

Dedicated messaging key for direct access to SMS/MMS

Email and IM

Facebook and Twitter with Communities client

Access to Ovi Store to download apps and games

5MP camera with 4x digital zoom

FM Radio

The Build

When I get to hold the Nokia X3-02, its build reminds me of my Nokia 8250 when I was still a sophomore back in 2002. It’s very portable, lightweight, slim, easy to hold, and fits well even in small pockets. The Nokia X3-02 is originally inspired by its predecessor, the Nokia X3, just that it got a wider display (2.4-inch) and no vertical-slider mechanism to reveal the keypad.

Nokia X3-02 comes in to fill the gap of available mobile phones, that is a candy bar handset featuring a keypad with dedicated keys for instant player and messaging access, and a touchcreen complementing for the entire Touch and Type experience. The lower portion in the frontage has been trimmed, making it look stylish.

There are no functional buttons in the curvy sides except for volume control and lock switch in the upper right.

The back is designed with brushed aluminum cover which can be removed by pressing the notches in both sides, and pushing the cover back to reveal the phone’s battery, MicroSD and SIM card slots.

There’s the 5MP camera and Nokia decided to have the connectivity ports at the top including the 3.5mm AV, microUSB, and charger ports.

Functionalities

Nokia X3-02 touchscreen provides quick access to the popular features of the phone. The Home screen is customized with Favorite contacts, the Communities client, and quick access to several apps like Email and Chat, camera, and Ovi Store.

The Communities client is for social interaction in which users can access their Facebook and Twitter accounts easily. Applications are available from the Menu, but users can download more apps and games from the Ovi Store. I downloaded 2 apps (check out Apps for Series 40) to test the phone’s Wi-Fi and it works seamlessly, thanks to its WLAN 802.11n support.

Using a Touch and Type phone is easier when you’re used to keypads. Most of the tasks in Nokia X3-02 like sending SMS and Emails, updating Facebook and Twitter, and etc. can be done through the use of the physical keypad, while other functionalities are available in the touchscreen. That basically explains that you need to use both most of the time, hence the name Touch and Type.

For photography aficionados, the 5MP fixed-focus camera on Nokia X3-02 probably won’t suffice. I must admit that I’m not really good in cameras, but with basic knowledge in photography - I would say that it can only take decent shots if there’s enough amount of light. Without flash or any way to have higher film speed (ISO), still images in low-light condition using the phone’s camera is not really that much impressive. The camera is capable of recording videos though, but it’s only limited to 5-seconds per video.

The audio is great. I tried playing MP3 files and it’s good the phone’s music player supports shuffle and repeat modes. There’s an FM Radio too, though it requires a headset as antenna - you can actually hook a portable speaker. I used my iTour-Pop speaker and it’s a perfect match.

Another thing I liked with Nokia X3-02 is the USB connectivity. With USB On-The-Go support, you can connect any USB drive to transfer files from the phone, a great help when you’re running out of mass storage. The phone can also be charged through the USB port.

Though I haven’t tested the phone’s battery life in different cases, charging it just once in a week (less calls) is an indicator the 860 mAh power source inside is more than enough.

Xperia Ray, Xperia Active, and SE Txt – New Stylish Phones to Expect from Sony Ericsson

Early this year, Sony unveiled at least 4 smartphones in the Xperia lineup which include the Xperia Arc, Xperia Neo, Xperia Pro, and Xperia Play.

Except for Xperia Pro, the other three handsets have already been released and in fact now available here in the Philippines.

But Sony Ericsson has something more for this year. Just in the recent CommunicAsia event in Singapore, the joint-venture firm unveiled additional 3 new phones coming in stores by Q3. Two of which will complement the existing Xperia smartphone lineup, the Xperia Ray and Xperia Active, and one feature phone called Sony Ericsson txt donning a full QWERTY keyboard.

SE Xperia Ray
The SE Xperia Ray has the most fabulous package among the three. It’s a sleek touchscreen phone with aluminum body at 9.4mm thin, 3.3-inch Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine, 8.1MP rear camera with Exmor R sensor, 1GHz processor, 1500 mAh battery, and running Android Gingerbread OS.

SE Xperia Active
The SE Xperia Active on the other hand is a rugged sports-centric touchscreen phone. It also runs Android Gingerbread, 1GHz processor, a smaller 3-inch Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine, 5MP rear camera capable of HD video recording, and 1200 mAh battery. Xperia Active is said to be dust proof, water resistant, and has that unique “Wet-Finger Tracking” feature which is probably good for people like me with slippery fingertips.

Sony Ericsson txt
The Sony Ericsson Txt doesn’t have that smartphone prowess, yet it has a decent build inside and out in its category. It’s a feature phone with full QWERTY keyboard, 2.6-inch screen, 3.2MP camera capable of video recording, Wi-Fi connectivity, and designed with a “Friends” application for Facebook and Twitter interaction.

The Xperia Ray, Xperia Active, and SE Txt are expected for release come Q3 this year. Hit feature videos after the break...

Nokia N950, the MeeGo Phone We Once Speculated as N9

When Nokia N9 was announced earlier this week at Nokia Connection 2011, I highlighted that the phone we’ve seen a month earlier in a leaked teaser video was definitely not the N9.

Nokia N950
It turns out it’s a non-commercial phone called Nokia N950, and we guessed it right from its “squarecle” icons in the UI that it runs on MeeGo. Why I’ve said it’s a non-commercial phone, simply because the handset is only for developers and Nokia said in a release notes that the quality and feature set of N950 is of beta quality and comes without any warranty or support whatsoever.

Nokia N950
Though it appears that Nokia N950 is the QWERTY version of Nokia N9, one should note that both handsets actually use the same hardware components except that:

  • N950 is physically larger and is made out of aluminum, whereas N9 has a polycarbonate unibody.

  • N950 has a physical slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The N9 is a touchscreen-only device.

  • N950 has a 4” TFT LCD display whereas N9 has 3.9” AMOLED display. Display resolution is same on both devices (854x480).

  • N950 has a different physical camera module than N9. Both camera modules have very similar image quality (Carl Zeiss branding in N9) and both modules support 8MP image mode.

  • In the N950, the front facing camera is in top right corner and on N9 it is in the bottom right corner. The actual camera module is same.

  • N950 supports Bluetooth version 2.1+EDR, whereas N9 supports version 4.0

  • N950 does not have support for NFC

  • N9 has slightly more sensitive magnetometer and ALS

  • N950 has 1320mAh battery, the N9 has 1450mAh battery

The N950 won’t hit in stores as yet another MeeGo device in the lineup and it actually makes no sense of getting one, unless you’re a MeeGo aficionado or a dev. [via]

Accenture Inks Symbian Development for Nokia

Following Nokia’s announcement in February to adopt Windows Phone, the Finnish firm also plans to outsource the development and support of the Symbian software to Accenture.

And now, the two companies finally inked the outsourcing agreement in which Accenture will provide development and support of the Symbian platform for Nokia through 2016. Approximately 2,800 Nokia employees in China, Finland, India, UK, and the US will transfer to Accenture once the deal is closed come October this year.

Though Nokia will consider Windows Phone as its primary smartphone strategy while continue developing the MeeGo platform, the phone maker just announced recently its plans to ship up to 10 new Symbian smartphones over the next 12 months.

Nokia Windows Phone 7 “Sea Ray” Leaked [Video]

This could be Nokia’s first Windows Phone we’ve been waiting for.

In an exclusive presentation of Stephen Elop about a super confidential handset, the Nokia CEO asked the audience to turn off cameras and other recording devices as they don’t want to see it in the blogosphere. But no, it just happened.

Elop showed a phone similar to the recently announced Nokia N9, wearing the interface of Windows Phone 7. The phone is codenamed “Sea Ray” and as you can see in the image above, it’s an all-screen device with no Home button. And since this is a Windows Phone, I’m thinking the WP7 Mango update will also support the Swipe feature similar to Nokia N9 in MeeGo OS. Elop described the phone as beautifully designed with "Gorilla glass" and "pillow-shaped backing". An 8MP or 12MP shooter with dual-LED flash is evident as well.

It has already been confirmed the first Windows Phone from Nokia will ship this year, and to be honest – even myself, can’t wait to see how the Finns will save themselves from that burning platform.

Hit the video after the break and listen carefully to what the CEO is saying.

No matter how some people criticize and make fun of his English, Manny Pacquiao has already proven himself he can also excel outside the boxing ring.

HP TouchPad
Now a politician, Pacquiao is also doing a good job with his extra talent in singing and commercials. In fact, the Philippine boxing hero had recently closed a deal with the largest technology company in the world, Hewlett-Packard, for the endorsement of the company’s latest mobile products.

Early this month, Pacquiao’s commercial for HP Veer hit online and it's certainly one of the entertaining ads we’ve seen. And now, Pacquiao dead it again… I mean he DID it again! But this time, he’s trying to make it in music with HP’s webOS-powered tablet – the HP TouchPad.

Angry Birds Seasons: Summer Pignic for iPhone and Android Now Available

After launching a teaser trailer yesterday of the newest edition of Angry Birds Seasons, publisher Rovio officially released the game update for iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, and Android users.

Themed for summer, the Angry Birds Seasons: Summer Pignic is tougher to play as gamers will only have one bird on each level to knock out the pigs. And like the Christmas edition, with Summer Pignic, you can only play additional levels every day for a month. Though it may sounds lame for those who want to unlock all levels right of the bat, the point is – Rovio wanted the game to be enjoyed that way.

Angry Birds Seasons: Summer Pignic is now available for download at iTunes App Store and Android Market. Rovio also says the update will be out for webOS and Symbian devices.

You may check out the trailer after the break.

Globe Drops Samsung Galaxy S II Plan to Php 2499!

We got some exciting news here guys.

Last Saturday, CTB reported that Globe Telecom has already been accepting pre-orders of Samsung Galaxy S II. And those who pre-order the unit will have a chance to get the dual-core smartphone for FREE at Plan 2799, instead of the regular Plan 3799 through the telco’s My Super Surf Plan.

And now, here’s the news...

Instead of getting SGS2 free at Plan 2799, Globe will offer the unit FREE at Plan 2499. CTB was able to confirm this after Globe Telecom changed the Samsung Galaxy S II pre-order page.

Before

Now
If you’ll ask why there’s a change, it’s probably because Plan 2799 is not available with Globe’s My Super Surf Plan. It’s just Plan 299, 499, 999, 1799, 2499, 3799, and All-Unli Plan.

Here’s the catch though. Plan 2499 is not bundled with unlimited mobile internet. You’ll only get a combination of 7 freebies which include: 10 minutes calls and 200 SMS to Globe and TM, 5 minutes calls and 25 SMS to other networks, 20 minutes IDD calls and 10 international SMS, 3 hours mobile surfing, and unlimited call and text to only 1 Globe or TM number. That means if you’re the type of user who prefer surfing most of the time – Plan 2499 gives you a total of 21 hours free mobile internet. Beyond that will reflect on your bill.

Update: June 26, 2011

Someone from Globe Telecom sent this in. Plan 2499 for Samsung Galaxy S II is packed with unlimited mobile internet, plus Php 1500 worth of consumable and 5 freebies of choice. So, that makes pre-ordering the handset even a better deal.

Please note also that all SuperSurf Plans from Globe come with unlimited internet.

If that sounds a great offer for you, go hit this link to pre-order SGS2.

Thanks for the tip, Din!

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1 Now in Philippines, Official Prices Are Still Yet to be Known

The juggernaut among Samsung’s tablet lineup, the Galaxy Tab 10.1, together with its younger sibling, the Galaxy Tab 8.9 – have finally landed in the Philippine soil.

The Samsung Galaxy Tabs (7-inch, 8.9-inch, 10.1-inch)
In an event in Makati City earlier today, Samsung Philippines officially launched the two tablets which are expected to go head to head with Apple iPad 2 (which has made its way in the country in April), as well with those slates like the BlackBerry PlayBook, HP TouchPad, Motorola XOOM, and among others that haven’t been even released in other countries just yet.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1 are both running Android Honeycomb OS and powered by dual-core application processors clocking at 1GHz. You can check more of its specs here and here.

Prices of Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Galaxy Tab 10.1 are still yet to be known though, but surely we’ll be seeing these on the local shelves in the next few days. If I have to throw my guesstimate, that’s somewhere between Php 30K and 35K giving the fact that the first-gen Galaxy Tab was originally priced at Php 34,990. My guesstimate is actually within direct competition with the iPad 2’s pricing (3G + Wi-Fi models).

Anyway, we’ll just let you know once we got another tip regarding the local prices of all Galaxy Tab variants.

Nokia N9 Gets Official: Specs, Features, Photos, and Videos - Check this Out!

Remember that video teaser from Nokia of what appears to be a new handset with radical changes in design and style, but accidentally leaked to the web last month?

Well, it’s probably not the Nokia N9. Because the N9 has just been announced officially at the Nokia Connection in Singapore, and it doesn’t look to have a horizontal slide-out feature revealing what’s suppose to be a QWERTY keyboard. The Nokia N9 has been designed simply as sleek as it is, sans physical buttons in the sides (except for the camera shooter and volume control) and even Home button. Shelled with a hard-to-break synthetic material in the outside, a polycarbonate to be exact; the Nokia N9 is the first handset you’ll ever see with an all-screen-display up to the edges of the front landscape, introducing a new way to access the three simplified home views (events, applications, open apps) of the MeeGo interface by a simple gesture: that is to Swipe. Yes, those rumors of MeeGo’s death have been greatly exaggerated because you’ll be surprised to know that Nokia N9 will run on MeeGo.

Nokia N9
Though we got it wrong before, the Nokia N9 won’t feature the 12MP camera we’ve seen on Nokia N8, instead, just an 8MP shooter. But wait, Nokia says it’s not the MP that counts – it’s the Carl Zeiss optics. Agree? Cool!

Nokia N9 in colors Cyan, Black, and Magenta
The Nokia N9 is powered by ARM Cortex A8 OMAP3630 processor clocking at 1GHz, and its PowerVR SGX530 GPU complements to achieve a seamless performance of Meego on the device’s solid 3.9-inch AMOLED screen. Gamers would love to hear that it’s pre-loaded with NFC-enabled Angry Birds Magic, Galaxy on Fire 2, Real Golf 2011, among other downloadable game apps. Check out full specs, together with feature videos and press release after the break.

Gevey Ultra SIM Unlocks iPhone 4 Without Dialing 112

The problem with Gevey Turbo SIM is it can unlock iPhone 4 basebands, but users need to dial 112 as part of the process.

112 is an emergency number in which dialing it in other countries could be illegal. Being said that, some iPhone users may have second thought of using it as an alternative baseband unlocking solution to a more popular and widely used software-based Ultrasn0w.

Anticipating such concern, the SIM Interposer maker Gevey, has released a new Gevey Ultra SIM which can unlock iPhone 4 without dialing 112. The Gevey Ultra SIM has a more streamlined process of unlocking basebands 1.59.00, 2.10.04, 3.10.01, and 4.10.01 on iOS firmware including iOS 4.0, 4.1, 4.2.1, 4.3, 4.3.1, 4.3.2, 4.3.3, and even iOS 5.0. For Gevey Ultra SIM to work, users need to jailbreak the iPhone 4 and install the FuriousMod package from cydia.furiousmod.com repository.

Below is the demo of using Gevey Ultra SIM, courtesy of ApplenBerry – one of the distributors of Gevey products. The Ultra SIM is said to be available soon at a price of $28. No release date yet, but we’ll keep you posted once it’s already available.

Nokia Connections 2011 to Kick off Tomorrow

Nokia Connection 2011 will kick off tomorrow, June 21st, at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.

Nokia Connection is an annual event held in conjunction with CommunicAsia. This year, Nokia Connection is themed Unveiling the Next Chapter, so expect the Finnish phone maker to showcase the latest and newest devices as well as the services it will offer in the future.

The keynote address will be delivered by Stephen Elop, Nokia President and CEO, and will be joined by other senior Nokia executives from different business sectors of the company. You can check the list of speakers via this link.

CTB was actually invited by Nokia Philippines to attend Nokia Connections 2011; but unfortunately, due to some legal issues like the DOST clearance I need to secure, proving myself that I have already rendered service in the country (for being a DOST scholar), plus there’s that DFA issue on passport-printing-thingy which until now still haven’t been resolve yet – I regret to say that I won’t be able to witness the happenings from the said event, LIVE.

But anyway, CTB will still be covering and bring the highlights to this blog of this year’s Nokia Connection, so just stay tuned for updates. You can also get the latest updates on Twitter through this hash tag: #nokiacnxn

First Look of the Rizal Tablet

The Philippines just celebrated the 150th birth anniversary of the country’s national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal.

The Rizal Tablet, aka e-Rizal i-Tablet
Part of the celebration is the formal debut of a new tablet designed to commemorate the life and works of Rizal. The slate, labeled as Rizal Tablet, also known as e-Rizal i-Tablet, is a collaborative work of the Laguna provincial government, Vibal Publishing, and the University of the Philippines in Los Banos. The tablet is being manufactured by Ionics EMS, Inc. – an electronics service provider based in the Philippines which is also currently developing 4G LTE devices for Verizon Wireless in the US.

The provincial government of Laguna plans to distribute about 1,000 prototypes of the tablet to 14 high schools in the province.

Though not much have been revealed what’s inside the Rizal Tablet, it’s said to feature a 7-inch touch screen display (with a joystick Stylus), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and will come with video and games support on its Linux OS.

I’m wondering though if this Rizal Tablet has something to do with the low-cost tablet PC reported last year. Any thoughts?

Watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 (Trailer 2)

I don’t want to miss the final movie installment, really; even every trailer that hit online.

Warner Bros. has already posted the second, and probably the last trailer of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2. This is going to be the first movie in the Harry Potter film series to be screened in 3D and IMAX formats. It will be released worldwide this coming July 15th, following its world premiere on July 7th at Trafalgar Square in London.

Surely the movie will hit at the 3D Theater in Ayala Center Cebu as well at the IMAX Theater in SM, so those of you guys, my dear Cebuano readers, who have been waiting for eight months since Part 1 shouldn’t miss the trailer of what could be a climactic showdown between the good and evil forces. Excited? Hit the video after the break.

So, who do you think could live forever? Could there be a big shift of the story? Let’s find out, soon!
