LG Optimus 2X and Optimus Black Goes for a 10-Day Sale!

From July 1-10, LG Philippines will have another sale of its latest smartphones – the LG Optimus 2X and LG Optimus Black.

The promo dubbed as Optimus Mega 10 Day Sale will happen in more than a hundred LG stores and dealers nationwide. Up for grabs is the LG Optimus 2X at Php 24,990 with free HDMI cable and the LG Optimus Black at Php 17,990 without additional freebies. Suggested retail prices of the handsets are Php 27,990 and Php 19,990, respectively; so if you do the math that gives you a discount of Php 3K for Optimus 2X and Php 2K for the Optimus Black.

LG Optimus 2X, Optimus Black Goes on Sale Starting Today

I actually learned about this last weekend, but was trying to hold myself from writing about it.

Oh yes, I need to make sure this time CTB readers won’t be compromised with an LG-sale-thingy that will just turn into a huge hype and majority gets nothing. It was very disappointing, really. You remember that one?



Anyways, after trying out the scheduled “online” sale which started earlier today, it seems like LG keep their words at least on the very first day of its sale dubbed as “LG Optimus Amazing Discount”. It’s actually a month-long sale that started earlier today and will end come June 10th, so I wish everything will be smooth until the last day of the promo.

There’s one thing I liked about the sale though. It has a unique appeal at least to majority of Filipino customers because this is not the usual sale like what we see in mall settings. This one will be done online, and follows a certain schedules at irregular intervals, as seen in the mechanics below.

There are only two models involve here – the LG Optimus 2X and Optimus Black. The LG Optimus 2X will be discounted as high as Php 5000 from its Php 27,990 SRP, while the latter will be discounted as high as Php 3000 from its Php 19,990 SRP.

LG Optimus 2X in Philippines, “Coming Very Soon”

Yeah, that’s according to the official Twitter account of LG Philippines.

Though less specific, I’m guessing it’s just a matter of week or two that the release of LG Optimus 2X in the country gets official. Or, it could be a better surprise if it hits stores tomorrow ‘till the end of the week. And if LG manage to do that, it means one thing: the Optimus 2X would have a better position in the local market over Samsung Galaxy S II, another 2-core smartphone from LG’s South Korean contender which launched the handset in its territory last week.



Just in case you’ll ask why I’m really interested about this phone, that’s because it’s the first smartphone being powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 chip; making it the first smartphone with a blazing speed of a dual-core processor under its hood according to the Guinness World of Records.

The Optimus 2X will be available as Android Froyo device; however Gingerbread update will be available through OTA (over-the-air). Full specs and featured video after the break.

LG Optimus 2X Released in Korea; has a White Version, Too!

Remember that iPhone 4 look-a-like smartphone from LG claimed to be the first to run a dual-core processor? I think you do. It's the LG Optimus 2X.

Look at the phone, not the girls!

For our Korean friends, LG won’t let you down with their promise releasing the Froyo device this month. First seen last month with a flirty 4-inch WVGA screen powered by a 1 GHz dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor on Android 2.2; the LG Optimus 2X goes on sale today in South Korea under its official carrier, SK Telecom, in a 24-month contract.

LG said countries in Europe and in Asia will follow, and hopefully we’ll be seeing this unit here in the Philippines, perhaps prior to the white version. Oh, yes- just in case you didn't notice, seems like LG will beat Apple in releasing a snow-colored version of the handset. Would it still be this quarter? Only time will tell. LG Optimus 2X, the First Dual-core Smartphone: See Specs, Features, Price, and Availability

We have to admit. It’s not something that will twinkle in the sky, so the Korean company won’t call it as LG Star – instead they named it LG Optimus 2X.

Though it doesn’t exactly resembles its ancestor by name, the LG Optimus One P500, in terms of form factor – the LG Optimus 2X looks similar with Apple’s iPhone 4 at the first glance.

This newest gadget from LG is the first in the world to run a dual-core Tegra 2 processor at 1GHz clock speed. It initially runs on Android 2.2 (Froyo), but is upgradable to Android 2.3 or Gingerbread.
