Apple has already outed the eight major release of its desktop operating system, the Mac OS X Lion.
First unveiled during the recent WWDC 2011, Mac OS X Lion brings over 250 new features and among those noteworthy includes the Multi-Touch gesture support, Full-Screen Apps, Mission Control, Launchpad, and Mail. Other great features include:
Mac OS X Lion is now available for download for $29.99 through Apple’s Mac App Store. You will need to have OS X 10.6.6 or later (Snow Leopard) running on your Mac before you download OS X Lion. Basic hardware requirements include:
- Auto Save automatically saves your changes as you go, so you never have to worry about losing your work.
- Versions keeps a history of your document as you work and presents it in a timeline you can browse.
- Resume reopens an app exactly as you left it.
- AirDrop is the simplest way to send files to anyone around you, wirelessly — no setup or special settings required.
- Reading List in Safari lets you easily save web pages to read or browse later.
