Mac App Store Cracked, Allow to Install Paid Apps at No Cost

Though there’s already a cracking software for the Mac App Store called Kickback, which is expected to be out in the coming months – the release of the Mac App Store today with more than 1000 decent apps, didn’t stop pirates from releasing guides and tutorials on how to install paid apps at no cost.

Though we are not sharing the link here (posted link in the comment section will be deleted), the steps on installing non-purchased apps are just as easy as the pie.

Users only need to install the latest Snow Leopard version (10.6.6) as required to get the Mac App Store, and then download a free app like Twitter for Mac. Some files from the Application folder of the free app only need to be copied to a specific folder of the paid apps downloaded via torrents or other file sharing sites. The process tricks Apple’s Mac App Store receipt validation, which will allow users to run applications even without purchasing it.

Surely, Apple will patch this hole (or it is?) in no time – but it’s just quite interesting some users would benefit from it before Apple takes any action. What 'ya think?

Disclaimer: Cebu Tech Blogger doesn't promote software piracy. We are posting this information for educational purposes only, or some sort of news to get the attention of Apple as well as the app developers.

Apple’s Mac App Store is Out, Requires Mac OS X 10.6.6

Apple has nothing to show off at the on-going CES in Las Vegas, but I’m pretty sure they are just silently stalking the happenings to see the complete line-ups that will beat its magical iPad, the iPhone 4, its MacBooks, and of course their mobile platform iOS.

Say hello to Android 3.0, Apple. What we have now from the Cupertino-based company though, is the availability of its desktop applications store- the Mac App Store.

This may not sound exciting for those who got the leaks and rumors, but for those who didn’t join the hype – definitely it is!

“With more than 1,000 apps, the Mac App Store is off to a great start,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “We think users are going to love this innovative new way to discover and buy their favorite apps.”
The Mac App Store is available for Snow Leopard as part of Mac OS X 10.6.6 software update. More on this news via this link.

Google Cr-48 Notebook Hacked to Run Windows 7 and Mac OS X

Remember that Cr-48 notebook again which was announced last month as the first laptop to run the much-anticipated Google Chrome OS?

Oh, yeah. We actually joined the ride with the folks at CNET with their first look of Chrome OS on Cr-48. I assume you learned Google is inviting participants of its Pilot Program to test Cr-48 Chrome notebook and have them sent with detailed feedback.

Mac OS X on Cr-48
It turns out there’s even more than a detailed feedback, but some sort of - bad news for Google perhaps? The unbranded matte black notebook donning a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom N455 CPU is actually designed to run Chrome OS. Interestingly, it has been hacked to run Ubuntu, and now – the Windows 7 and Mac OS X. The interface is obviously sluggish, that’s basically the Cr-48 specs was not designed to run these platforms. Nevertheless, the trick to do that is indeed something awful. Check out the videos after the break.

The Google Chrome OS is due mid this year, as expected, so just stay tuned for more updates.
