Apple’s Mac App Store is Out, Requires Mac OS X 10.6.6

Apple has nothing to show off at the on-going CES in Las Vegas, but I’m pretty sure they are just silently stalking the happenings to see the complete line-ups that will beat its magical iPad, the iPhone 4, its MacBooks, and of course their mobile platform iOS.

Say hello to Android 3.0, Apple. What we have now from the Cupertino-based company though, is the availability of its desktop applications store- the Mac App Store.

This may not sound exciting for those who got the leaks and rumors, but for those who didn’t join the hype – definitely it is!

“With more than 1,000 apps, the Mac App Store is off to a great start,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “We think users are going to love this innovative new way to discover and buy their favorite apps.”
The Mac App Store is available for Snow Leopard as part of Mac OS X 10.6.6 software update. More on this news via this link.
