Cr-48, the First Chrome OS Notebook

Chemistry, anyone? You might probably be thinking of a Chromium isotope. Well, you’re right. The Cr-48 is an isotope of the element Chromium. But for Google, it’s more than that.

Cr-48 is the first notebook or laptop to run the anticipated Chrome OS announced last year.

Google Chrome OS is still unfinished though; however, the first notebook to run the OS is set to be released mid-2011.

Have a quick glimpse of Cr-48 notebook in action.

Though the unit is not for sale, you may want to check the specs and features below.

12.1 inches (display size)

Boots in 10 seconds

Weigh around 3.8 pounds

Built-in Qualcomm Gobi 3G chip

802.11n dual-band Wi-Fi

8 days of battery life on standby

Interesting. I wish Samsung, Acer, and among other manufacturers will release their Chrome OS notebooks at a more reasonable price next year. What do you think?
