Element Case Vapor 4 for iPhone

Most of iPhone 4 protection accessories I’ve seen so far are made of either rubber or plastic, but this one really caught my attention.

Called Vapor 4 iPhone Case, I guess this is one of the sexiest yet hardcore casings available in the market today. Made of aircraft grade aluminum for strong hold, Vapor 4 protects the sides of an iPhone just like what the usual Apple Bumper for iPhone 4 does. So if you accidentally drop your iPhone and impact on objects sideways, fret nothing.

You can still use other protection for the front and rear glass panels though, like ZAGG Invisible Shield and among others. When I held the iPhone with Vapor 4 installed, I didn’t notice any reception issue which is good for iPhone 4 which has a known problem in signal performance when hands covers the antennae.

Vapor 4 is being manufactured by an American company Element Case, and a quick browsing on its website reveals several features and here's what they can say about its product:

  • Despite its minimalist appearance, the Vapor is CNC machined from a solid block of aircraft grade aluminum. In other words, it's strong and light (19 grams)!

  • A CNC on/off button is designed into the case to complete the clean lines.

  • The finish of the Vapor case is anodized to create a hard protective coating in brilliant colors. Yes, black is a color. We love anodized black.

  • In true Element Case™ style, the graphics are laser engraved.

  • The inside of the Vapor case is lined with a very high tech shock absorbing material that reduces the G-forces of an impact.

Vapor 4 is priced $79.99 which is really quite more expensive compared to other cases, but I think it's just fair for its build. I got a tip it's available locally (iStore), but wasn't able to confirm its price. I'm wondering if anyone here rocking Vapor 4 for iPhone?

OPT Lifestyle Cases for Apple Gadgets, Anyone?

It looks like we’re going to feature most, if not all, of the accessories and enhancements available for your gadgets locally.

Following the Capdase brand, this time we’ll talk about OPT Lifestyle Cases. I did a quick search about OPT and it appears to be a local brand, yet its products are targeted for Apple users. I’m personally not a fanboy, but you know Apple right? As its name suggests, OPT provides casings and holders for iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, and MacBook particularly the ultraportable “Air” models. Its latest products designs already include compatibility for the latest generation of Apple gadgets like iPhone 4 and iPad 2.

You may check its latest product catalogue from the slideshow below.

I haven’t tried any of OPT products though, so I don’t have anything to say regarding its quality at least for now. But surely I’ll have an encounter some of these in the future. For those who want to check and give it a try, OPT Lifestyle Cases are available at iCenter in Crossroads, Banilad.

So, anyone here have already tried using OPT? What can you say about it?

CAPDASE Store Now in Cebu Philippines

I’ve been at SM Cyberzone - Cebu the other day and being familiar with almost all IT stores located within the Cyberzone perimeter, I can easily recognize which one is the newest in the chain.

Capdase Stall at SM Cyberzone - Cebu
Just in case you haven’t noticed yet, particularly those Cebuano techies who frequently visit SM Cyberzone to check the latest gadgets, CAPDASE now has a new stall just beside ZAGG’s booth. I haven’t seen similar store at Ayala Center just yet, so I guess it’s the first Capdase store in the city.

Capdase Accessories
Capdase is a known brand for gadget accessories like casings, protective films, power accessories, cable adapters, and enhancements. I know some products of this brand are also available in other stores, but I can personally testify you’ll find yourself left with lesser choice due to limited stocks, most of the time. Yeah, that’s based on my experience.

So, if you guys have been looking for this brand for your gadget accessories and enhancements, you can head to the stall just beside ZAGG’s booth, near iStore. I’m actually looking for the replacement of Moshi Case for my iPhone 4, so I give Capdase a try.

iPhone 4 Case: Moshi iGlaze 4 XT Review

Adding protective casing to personal gadgets is one of the best things you can do, well, just to save extra bucks from damages it gets when you accidentally drop it or in an events that you’d really feel sorry for your toys.

And that’s what I did to my iPhone 4 with ZAGG Invisible Shield, a resistive thin film which covers the entire glass panels of the iPhone 4 including the aluminum frame in all sides. However, my girlfriend got me surprised when she bought another case last Christmas – the Moshi iGlaze 4 XT. I realized it’s kinda useless because it will only cover the back panel and I’d rather choose a leather case instead. But since it was her choice and a Christmas present, too – I took it anyway.

The small box is packed with a Buffer Film (similar to ZAGG invisible shield, but thicker) for the back of the iPhone 4, a circular microfiber cloth used to wipe away dust particles at the back of the iPhone 4 and also used to smooth out the buffer film after installation, and lastly – the iGlaze case.

The Moshi iGlaze 4 XT is a transparent snap on case for iPhone 4. There’s the “Moshi” logo at the bottom, which appears below the Apple trademarks after installation. It’s ultra slim considering the thickness of about 0.8mm; that’s why it won’t require much pressure when you install it to the device.

Installation is very easy since it was really designed for the iPhone 4. The measurements are precise at all edges including the height, and the rear camera and LED flash of the iPhone fit at the center of the hole.

One problem though, is you need the iPhone free from other protective films on it. In my case since it had the ZAGG Invisible Shield installed already, I just removed the shield at the back and replaced it with the new Buffer Film that came with the iGlaze. You also need to remove the shields in all sides, unless you can manage to install it with the shields still in place – but it would be tighter. The ZAGG Invisible Shield at the front glass panel or display was not a problem during the installation. In fact, it’s a good thing to have a separate protection for the display if you’re going to use iGlaze 4 XT. Though iGlaze is made of transparent plastic, you can’t find flares on photos when using the Flash of the camera.

For more than two weeks of using this on my iPhone 4, I feel it’s more sexy and decent. I’m excited to fit the iPhone 4 on a leather case with the Moshi iGlaze installed. But anyway I’ll just let you know once I have it. Just in case you want to buy one online, this accessory costs around $24 at Amazon. Other variants include iGlaze Graphite Black, Burgundy Red, and Tyrian Purple. My girlfriend bought this one for Php 1,290 at the local store here in Cebu.

What do you think about this?
