Amazon to Sell Ad-Supported Kindle for $114

139-dollar Amazon Kindle? Not anymore. Amazon announced they are going to sell the Wi-Fi version of its popular eBook Reader, the Kindle, $25 less than its current price tag.

That means you can get the original $139 Kindle just for $114. But there’s a catch though. The new deal comes with “special offers” in which Amazon will display Adverts on Kindle’s UI, just in the home screen or as screen savers. In that way, the Ads definitely won’t be intrusive while reading your favorite eBook.



This ad-supported Kindle will be available on May 3rd, but you can pre-order it as early as now. No words if Amazon will release the same ad-supported units of its 3G counterpart as it’s still priced at $189. Sounds a good deal though for the Wi-Fi version and that leaves you a choice. What ‘ya think?

Amazon Launched Cloud Drive, Cloud Player for Web, and Cloud Player for Android

To meet the ongoing demand of cloud-based music storage, Amazon announced today the launch of a new set of services called Amazon Cloud Drive, Amazon Cloud Player for Web, and Amazon Cloud Player for Android.

The new services will be available only to US Amazon customers though, in which they can securely store music in the cloud and have it played on any Android-based smart phones, Android tablets, Mac, or PC – anytime, anywhere.



With Amazon Cloud Drive, customers can upload and store digital files including music, photos, videos, and other documents from their computer, starting with 5GB of free storage space; and an upgrade to 20GB of Cloud Drive storage is available once a purchase of any Amazon MP3 album is completed. Amazon also says new purchases of Amazon MP3 saved directly to the Cloud Drive will be stored for free, and won’t count on the given customer’s storage quota. Fair enough, huh.



The Amazon Cloud Player for Web is an application that will allow customers to listen to their music from their computers’ web browsers. Supported browsers include Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Apple Safari. Cloud Player for Android on the other hand is a mobile version of the Cloud Player for Web, bundled in the new version of Amazon MP3 App. Cloud Player for Android can be used to play music stored both in the Cloud Drive or the ones stored locally on devices.
